چکیده

A wirelessly networked array of integrated sensor and processing modules has demonstrated video-rate tomographic reconstruction previously shown on a video enabled supercomputer cluster. We discuss issues regarding design and development of these firstand second-generation distributed sensing and processing platforms. 2000 Optical Society of America OCIS codes: (150.6910) Three-dimensional sensing, (100.6950) Tomographic image processing

Deception Robust Control of Self-Organizing Network of Unattended Sensors

With success of deception control theory, founded recently, in an urban warfare application, we propose a strong case for studying deception in ad-hoc micro-sensor network applications for the use cases with a sentient adversary. We use a Lockheed Martin advanced IR&D work, SONUS (SelfOrganizing Networks of Unattended Sensors), as an exemplar that provides robust and scalable solution when rand...

L Ine in the S And

Intrusion detection along perimeters or borders is a surveillance problem of practical value that is well suited to wireless sensor networks. The goal of the work described here is to rapidly detect, track, and classify intruders along an arbitrary or ad hoc border. We examine the requirements of border surveillance in the context of a military scenario called “Line in the Sand” or “LITS.” We e...

Multi-Target Tracking with Unattended Ground Sensors (UGS) Data

This paper studies the performance of an Extended Kalman Filter/Multi-Hypothesis Tracking (EKF/MHT) approach to target tracking with data from seismic and acoustic sensors. We study the impact on tracking performance of the number, placement, and detection threshold associated with these sensors. Our algorithm scales well as the number of sensors increases, indicating its suitability for proces...

Room Temperature Hydrogen Sensor Based on Single-Electron Tunneling Between Palladium Nanoparticles

In this paper, we present the results of single-electron tunneling in two-dimensional (2D) hexagonal closed packed arrays of palladium nanoparticles. After inspecting the emergence of Coulomb blockade phenomena, we demonstrate the possibilities of using these arrays as a single-electron tunneling based hydrogen sensor. We assumed arrays of palladium nanoparticles with diameters of 3.5 and 6...
